Andrea Corrie enjoys many aspects of digital photography, but her special area of interest is capturing images of flowers. She feels that the scope of floral photography offers endless photo opportunities to record variety in form, texture and color. Wherever possible she tries to photograph plants in their natural habitat but she also enjoys experimenting with light and shade on cut blooms, and likes to explore the effects of post processing techniques.
She would advise any novice photographer to place a single bloom in a vase in good natural light, and practice the use of various camera settings, viewing the effect of each. This is a great learning aid to begin to understand the effects of altering focus, depth of field, exposure time, and natural lighting versus the use of flash.
Andrea also enjoys applying creative techniques to images, photographic restoration and the creation of custom made greetings cards.
