Be prepared for a lot of switchbacks. Almost too many as you go back and forth up a relatively steep slope. Switchbacks are the only way you could possibly hike up to the lake. But in the end, it is a great reward by sitting by the lake and hiking all around the lake. Get there early as there is only a small parking lot for parking your car.
