20 feet to 30 feet high snowdrifts are not uncommon on Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. The road is a winding, very scenic road from Estes Park, CO to Grand Lake, CO. The road is usually closed for approximately 7 months of the year due to high levels of snowfall.
