Great Blue Herons are tricky to photograph because the bird is spooked very easily. The bird seems to be able to see you, even when you’re far away from the bird. As soon as you try to approach the bird, the bird will probably fly away. And if you are fast enough, you’ll photograph the flying bird.

A bit blurry, but that's the tough part of capturing a bird in flight as normally you're not 100% prepared for the bird flying by. A lot of practice and a bit of luck comes into bird in flight photographs. But overall, nicely done!
